EVs have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in almost every aspect of the automotive world. They can be world-beating supercars, go-anywhere off-roaders, and cushy luxury cars. One of the few frontiers left for EVs to conquer is the affordable car space – at least in the US – where range and decent size are requisites to be competitive.Chevy was one of the early pioneers in the affordable EV field, launching the first Bolt for less than $40,000; its successors even managed to start below the $30,000 mark. It never sold in massive numbers, but was still an impressive value; one that, ironically, Chevrolet killed after its best sales year ever in 2023.
