Volkswagen pulled the manual transmission as an option in the Volkswagen Golf R after the 2024 model year, and wouldn’t you know it, the hot hatch is currently trending at $45,888, or roughly the same price as its $45,665 MSRP. Scarcity doesn’t always create value. The junkyards are full of discontinued and uncommon cars, but manual hot hatches are a niche with a strong fanbase, and fewer models to pick from every year.
