Beyond Hypercars
Making cars is a tough business; it’s cutthroat, and competition is everywhere. The niche segment is even harder because you’re targeting a select demographic and market. Rimac’s business model is built on selling the world’s best EV hypercar at top-dollar prices, so it’s no surprise the brand is spinning off services beyond cars to make more money.

Rimac
From EVs to AI
Rimac has just announced a partnership with Ecoblox, a global leader in AI compute infrastructure. Under this new deal, Rimac will leverage its extensive experience building EV batteries to create power solutions for AI computing centers. As we know, AI data centers need a lot of power, and as demand for AI continues to grow, more and more data centers with high-tech power solutions need to be built.
Ecoblox and Rimac’s partnership focuses on creating Modular Data Centers (MDCs), portable, scalable data centers compared to traditional permanent centers that take too long to build and aren’t mobile. The project will integrate Rimac Technology’s UNI battery modules. These UNI modules streamline serviceability and enable longer continuous backup power for critical hardware. It also has a Battery Management System (BMS) that provides real-time monitoring and control and sends telemetry and data straight to Ecoblox.
Both parties plan to build and launch the first Modular Data Center at the Rimac Campus in Zagreb, Croatia. The target completion date is November 2026, and it will serve as a live demonstration of the joint solution and a platform for customer and partner engagement.

Leveraging Automotive Uses
Rimac’s UNI battery modules are seen as a key factor in keeping the modules portable because of their compact packaging for multiple uses. Primarily, UNI battery modules are used in Rimac’s Hypercars and were developed with built-in safety features and advanced thermal management systems. Beyond automotive use, Rimac has partnered with other stakeholders to use UNI battery modules in energy storage, marine, off-highway, commercial, and industrial applications.
Rimac Technology CEO Nurdin Pitarević had this to say about the partnership: “Our battery and power electronics technologies have been developed and industrialized to meet some of the most demanding requirements in the automotive industry. The same capabilities are increasingly relevant to high-power AI infrastructure, where power density, thermal management, safety, and reliability are critical. Together with ECOBLOX, we are applying these technologies to a new high-power application and bringing automotive-grade technology to AI data centers.”
