Off to a Good Start…Until
Last year, the Porsche Macan EV outsold its combustion-powered counterpart. The folks from Stuttgart managed to sell 45,367 units of the battery-powered crossover worldwide, while the fuel-fed model saw 38,961 new owners during the same period. It’s a strong start for the electric Macan, but that’s just half the battle.
By the first quarter of 2026, global Macan sales dropped by 23% year on year, which is bad timing as Porsche needs a good amount of income right now. EV model sales then sank by 43% versus the previous quarter, and the fuel-fed Macan, which just wrapped up production, outsold it as well. With that, Porsche has given the electric crossover a 2027 update to help perk up interest in the model again.
We have to point out that the changes for 2027 are for the European market, but expect some of it to be applied to the North American model down the line. We might see it before the end of the year if plans fall into place.

A New Package
So, what’s new for 2027? Porsche is bundling its more commonly picked packages, for a start. Dubbed the Advanced Package, it’s available for the Macan (base), Macan 4 and Macan 4S models. It includes a panoramic roof, Matrix LED headlights, and auto-dimming side and rear-view mirrors, and lets the buyer choose from an expanded color palette selection.
This package also adds more features inside. Ticking the box for it means it gets 14-way adjustable Comfort seats, black leather, and an upgraded audio setup care of a Bose Surround Sound System. There are also neat additions under the chassis, namely Power Steering Plus, adaptive air suspension with self-leveling and height adjustment, plus Porsche Active Suspension Management.
For Germany at least, the Advanced Package costs €5,990 (around $6,900) for the Macan and Macan 4 and €5,299.07 for the Macan 4S (approx. $6,120). It’s not cheap, but pricing for the U.S will still vary depending on how much North American product planners want to put in.

Other Updates
The other big piece of news here is the increase in standard AC charging capabilities. 22 kW on-board charger will now be fitted to the Macan GTS and Macan Turbo, allowing those models to recharge more quickly at public chargers. Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S retain the maximum of 11 kW, but can be optioned with the 22 kW on-board charger. That said, all have DC charging capabilities for up to 270 kW.
Also new for 2027 is Automated Parking with 2D Surround View. It automatically detects parking spaces between and in front of objects and, once activated, takes over parking while switching on the necessary signal lights. It can also be used for getting out of a parking space.
Expect some of these features to be included in the U.S-spec Macan EV soon. As the combustion-powered model takes a break from production, there’s a lot riding on this electric version, and it’ll have to hold the fort until the all-new Audi Q5-based ICE model debuts a couple of years away.
