In the last few years, Mazda has become a surprise leader in automotive safety. Right now, every Mazda model has received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest award for safety, the Top Safety Pick+. The only exception is the Miata, which IIHS hasn’t tested. Now, Mazda is adding another safety feature that’s meant to help keep you safe when you’re outside the car on the side of the road.
