It was 14 years ago that Infiniti showed real promise in refining its lineup with the goal of continuing to beat its European rivals in the most cutthroat categories in the entire industry: luxury sedans and crossovers. The Q50 was just a year away from launch and its SUVs were soon receiving some sprucing up. Its full-size M56 sedan had a 420-horsepower 5.6-liter V8, just as theFX50crossover had a 390-horse 5.0-liter V8. Things were looking good. Very good.
