General Motors has announced yet another financial commitment to modernize its American production facilities, with transmission and engine manufacturing the recipient of its latest investment. The company said on Wednesday that it would spend another $830 million on several of its US-based factories, including two plants in Michigan and one plant in Ohio, bolstering GM’s spending in those regions. In the past year alone, the automaker has committed to more than $6 billion in its factories, including $4 billion to onshore manufacturing of the Chevrolet Blazer and expand production of the popular Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon full-size SUVs.
