Genesis may be preparing to give the GV70 SUV a full blacked-out treatment like some of the other models in its lineup. Although there’s no official confirmation on the news yet, a report from The Korean Car Blog states that the darker version of the luxury SUV is in the works.
The Missing Piece In Genesis’ Prestige Black Club

For now, Genesis already offers a blacked-out trim called the “Prestige Black” for the 2026 G80, G90, GV80 and GV80 Coupe in North America. The treatment is built around a monochromatic look, with black exterior details, black alloy wheels, and a dark-themed interior.
The GV70, however, is not currently part of that group. If the report proves accurate, the GV70 could extend Genesis’ existing black-focused strategy to one of the smaller vehicles in its lineup rather than simply adding another appearance package.
But The GV70 Already Has A Darker Side
There is another wrinkle for U.S. buyers. Genesis has already announced the Prestige Graphite trim for the 2027 GV70, adding a darker and more performance-focused version of the SUV.

The Prestige Graphite edition gets 21-inch dark metallic alloy wheels, red brake calipers, gloss-black mirror caps, dark chrome and gloss-black exterior accents, carbon-fiber interior trim, and exclusive exterior colors. If the reported GV70 Black does reach the U.S., it could coexist with Prestige Graphite. The former could serve as the version offering a more comprehensive monochromatic look of the SUV, while the latter takes a sportier approach.
The U.S. Availability Is Still A Question Mark

If Genesis does bring the GV70 Black to the U.S., it would also give buyers another way to personalize the SUV without stepping up to a larger GV80. That could make the special edition particularly interesting in a segment where appearance packages are an easy way for luxury brands to create more exclusive versions of their core models. For now, however, there’s still no word on pricing, production numbers, or when the reported model could arrive.
