Launched in 2007, the Fiat 500‘s first generation resurrected the Italian marque’s city car nameplate for the modern era. Heavily inspired by the 2004 Fiat Trepiùno concept car, the modern interpretation of the 500 aimed to bring the classic charm and aesthetics of its postwar-era predecessor with modern technology, comforts, and safety equipment, rivaling the likes of the BMW-era Mini Cooper two-door as affordable, yet fun-to-drive city cars for the general public.
