Feds Are Backing Away From Fuel Economy Standards On Heavy-Duty Engines

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced last week that it would reverse an Obama-era rule that set fuel efficiency standards for medium- and heavy-duty engines – over-the-road and vocational trucks, not stuff like the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty. However, the change only applies to individual engines, while the vehicles they power will still be subject to the same emissions and fuel economy mandates as before.
