The Dodge Durango has survived in its current form since 2011 – that’s 15 years. It has somehow come full circle, going from a hot new modern product, to an aging SUV with an outdated engine and interior, and back to a hot commodity, as big ol’ V8s and physical controls make a comeback. The current-generation Durango is currently still on sale as Dodge’s main SUV offering but is expected to be replaced in the near future. It didn’t take long for the SRT department to get its hands on the Durango and begin creating powerful family haulers for the masses. At first, the SRT lineup was only the R/T, a powerful but tame performance offering that came with a 5.7-liter or 6.4-liter V8 that is still going to this day.
