When the Bentley Continental GT Supersports arrived last year as a hybrid-free, rear-drive coupe with angry bodywork and less weight than any other Bentley for the last eight and a half decades, pretty much everybody loved it. Aside from styling some Bentley purists might consider vulgar, the Supersports was widely hailed as a return to form, engaging the driver and proving that Bentley can let its hair down once in a while, so now the British automaker is launching a remix with a retractable roof. The Autoblog spies’ first sighting of the upcoming Continental GT Supersports Convertible took place near the Nürburgring, where Crewe’s engineers will hone the Supersports recipe to suit the altered aerodynamics and weight of a drop-top. Let’s see what they saw.
2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports Convertible Looks Menacing

Besides the fabric roof, the GT Supersports Convertible looks nearly identical to the coupe, but that roof makes all the difference. While the coupe has a shallowly raked rear windshield that gracefully culminates just short of the rear spoiler, the fabric roof on the convertible is flatter on top and drops away more sharply, with a steeper rake and thus a smaller rear window. Where the coupe’s roof ends, the convertible has a shutline for the panel that conceals the roof-folding mechanisms, and in profile, the effect is almost longtail-like (or perhaps even pickup-like?). That brings us to the other obvious change over the coupe: the side-skirts. Although the convertible has the same cutaway front bumper with aero flics directing airflow over the front wheelhouses, the drop-top seen here is missing the carbon fiber barge boards and skirts behind the wheel arches. That said, this is the first sighting of the Supersports Convertible, and it’s quite likely that more advanced prototypes will appear with new fenders and rocker panels. In every other respect, however, from wheelbase to overhangs, the Convertible is a dead ringer for the hard-top, retaining recessed bodywork aft of the rear wheels, a very chunky trunk lid spoiler, and sharp exhaust tips in an angular diffuser panel.
Bentley Conti GT Supersports: Big Power, Regular Battery

Autoblog/SH Proshots
The Bentley Continental GT Supersports Convertible is expected to have the same powertrain figures as its hard-top sibling, which means the drivetrain sends power exclusively to the rear axle through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. And instead of a plug-in hybrid setup generating the juice, the Supersports relies on a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 developing 657 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Since the Convertible adds extra weight in the form of an electronic folding fabric roof, it’ll likely fall slightly short of the coupe’s 0-62 mph sprint time of 3.7 seconds, though the 192-mph top speed may carry over. Carbon-ceramic brakes, 22-inch forged wheels, and a titanium exhaust system from Akrapovič will also appear in the two-seater. Bentley offered just 500 Supersports coupes, but it remains to be seen whether the automaker will increase, maintain, or decrease the level of exclusivity with the Convertible. We’ll bring you more info as we get it, but we assume production will begin before the end of 2026 for the 2027 model year, and pricing will likely exceed the coupe’s near-$500k asking price.
