One reason that electric sports cars are having such a hard time earning the respect of auto enthusiasts has to do with noise. Electric motors on their own are nearly silent, meaning they need simulated exhaust and engine sounds to provide the kind of feedback that sports car owners desire. The catch-22 is that the sound coming from the speakers gets derided as fake – because it is. Luckily, the V16-powered Bugatti Tourbillon doesn’t have to resort to automotive EDM.
