Youngsters today might not know this, but once upon a time, there was another Japanese automaker operating stateside that’s no longer around on this side of the world: Isuzu. It was quite an outlier, and if you thought re-badging is a present-day creation, notably with the Nissan Rogue PHEV and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, back in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, Isuzus were everywhere. While the Isuzu Trooper takes the crown as the most badge-engineered vehicle ever, the Isuzu Amigo, Rodeo Sport, and the Rodeo were close behind. Based on the Isuzu MU and Wizard, they were re-badged as the Honda Jazz, Honda Passport, and the Frontera, which was sold as an Opel, Vauxhall, Holden, and a Chevy.
