Following hot on the heels of the 2027 Toyota Corolla, Nissan has introduced the latest Sentra. It features a new special edition, a revamped gearbox, and a higher price tag.
The big news is a Midnight Edition package on the Sentra SR. It costs $650 and embraces the blackout trend.

As part of the makeover, the car has black badging, black window trim, and black 18-inch alloy wheels. A Super Black paint job comes standard, while four two-tone options with a contrasting Super Black roof are available for an additional $950.
Nissan didn’t stop there as the tuning for the continuously variable transmission has been improved. It promises to deliver smoother and more linear acceleration as well as a “crisper response” and a “more predictable driving experience.” The company said the change was based on customer feedback and is part of an effort to apply “meaningful, targeted changes that enhance the ownership experience.”
Last but not least, the car can be equipped with a new Qi2 wireless smartphone charger. It provides a faster and more consistent charging experience as well as compatibility with more devices.
The 2027 Sentra is now on sale and pricing starts at $22,890 before a $1,245 destination fee. That’s $290 more than last year’s model, but it undercuts the aforementioned Corolla by $435 and has a cheaper delivery fee.
As a refresher, the model comes equipped with LED lighting units and 16-inch steelies. Buyers will also find a four-speaker audio system, a 7-inch cluster display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. They’re joined by an assortment of driver assistance systems including Intelligent Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Higher-end variants are far more luxurious as they offer TailorFit upholstery, heated front seats, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Buyers can also get dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-speaker Bose premium audio system, and ProPILOT Assist.
Regardless of which trim is selected, all Sentras are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 149 hp (111 kW / 151 PS) and 146 lb-ft (198 Nm) of torque.
