A Two-Tone Twist
Last year, Hyundai introduced the SEL w/ 2-Tone Roof trim in the Venue, offering the familiar Denim Blue with a white roof combination. That pairing dates back to the original 2020 Venue and contrasts with the black roofs available on the trim’s other two-tone finishes.
That option, however, is on its way out. For the 2027 model year, the Venue will largely carry over but will drop the white-roof option. Although Hyundai hasn’t explained the change, using black roofs across the two-tone lineup could potentially simplify production planning. It does remove one way for prospective customers to stand out, although existing owners will retain the distinctive look now that the combination is being replaced by Mirage Green with a black roof.
A New Color Combo Emerges
Mirage Green on the Venue isn’t an entirely new color. The paint was introduced for the 2025 model year and remains available on the 2026 SE and SEL. For the upcoming version, it will also be paired with a black roof, giving the subcompact crossover another two-tone look that provides a sportier and more modern finish.
Because replacing the Denim Blue and white roof combination is the only change mentioned, the other two-tone options are expected to carry over. These include Lunar White and Ecotronic Gray, both paired with a black roof.
Additionally, the powertrain setup should be retained. It consists of a 1.6-liter Smartstream inline-four engine making 121 horsepower and 113 lb-ft of torque. The engine drives the front wheels through an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), the Korean marque’s name for its CVT.
Carrying the Budget Flag
Hyundai hasn’t announced pricing for the 2027 update. For reference, the 2026 Hyundai Venue SE starts at $20,550, excluding destination charges – making it the most affordable model in the brand’s U.S. lineup, below the Elantra and the entire U.S. market following the discontinuation of the Nissan Versa. The SEL w/ 2-Tone Roof starts at $22,600, while the top-priced SEL costs $225 more and is the only trim with a sunroof.
As a carryover for the 2027 model year, the U.S.-spec Venue will remain in the generation introduced in 2019. The company unveiled a next-generation model in India last year, but it appears that version will remain there for now.
