Ford has been continually improving its Mustang Mach-E, and for 2027, the compact electric crossover is the best it’s ever been. The new model year brings a bigger standard battery, a cheaper-to-produce but equally powerful front motor on AWD models (helping offset the cost of the bigger battery), and a new, more rugged Trail trim that boasts 6.0 inches of ground clearance, 0.2 inches more in the rear than the Mach-E Rally, thanks to a 10-millimeter lift in front and a 15-mm rise in the rear. The Trail also gets specially tuned front and rear struts and springs, the Rally’s steering rack, and AWD as standard. But that’s not all, and some trims are cheaper after the refresh.
New Trail Trim Leads 2027 Mustang Mach-E Updates

The off-road-biased Mustang Mach-E Trail is based on the Select eAWD trim and costs $2,295. Along with the above-mentioned mechanical upgrades, the Trail gains 19-inch wheels in High Gloss Dark Carbonized Gray with as-cast graphics (also borrowed from the Rally), shod with 235/55 Michelin CrossClimate 2 rubber. The Trail also sets itself apart through unique bodyside graphics and a Carbon Black lower front fascia, while inside, the Mach-E Trail logo is embossed on the center armrest. Another useful upgrade for the Trail is a 400-watt, 120-volt Pro Power Onboard system as standard, with outlets in the cargo area and behind the center console. Optionally, buyers can order a Clamp On Cross Bar Kit produced by Thule, and an Interior Protection Package with all-weather floor mats and a cargo-area protector. Trail buyers will also be awarded an extra 100,000 Ford Rewards points on top of the 22,000 points given to all Mustang Mach-E buyers. These can be used against the cost of various accessories, parts, subscriptions, and merchandise items.

As we can see above, dropping the previously standard 70kWh (usable) battery pack for an 88kWh battery (91kWh on GT and Rally) has bumped up the price of the base model, but all the others have come down. Revised EPA estimates haven’t been published yet, but the Mach-E will obviously go further for 2027. Other updates to the 2027 Mustang Mach-E range include BlueCruise 1.5 hands-free highway driving aids as standard on the range-topping GT and Rally, and optional on Select with the Tech Pack Lite or on Premium with the Premium Tech Pack. This gives you access for one year plus 90 days of service, and any trim that has the necessary hardware can have the service paid for through a one-time purchase. The Trail must be ordered with BlueCruise hardware since it can’t be added later.

2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E Availability

The 2027 Ford Mustang Mach-E is ready to order now, with deliveries expected to begin in Q1 of 2027. Unfortunately, you can’t spec your ideal variant just yet, as the 2027 build & price configurator is only planned for launch early next year. Nevertheless, Ford has found more efficiency and appeal, and, besides the base trim, it’s done so at a lower cost. We’re especially enthused by the new Trail trim, as the Rally might be a little too hardcore/expensive for most; now, you can have most of its upgrades with better ground clearance at a lower cost. It seems everyone wants as big a chunk of the adventure market as possible (even Mini is getting in on the action), but is it worthwhile having two broadly similar trims in the same lineup?
