The JeepCherokee helped mold the shape and direction of the modern American SUV. While SUVs are the most popular vehicles in the country today, that wasn’t always the case. The first-generation Cherokee, sold from 1974 to 1983, was a literal game-changer. Fast-forward fifty years, though, and the Cherokee name has been through some severe ups and downs. Those earlier years might have been an exciting new frontier, but the generations following it lacked the same success. It appears as though we might be in luck, though; the next generation of Jeep Cherokee is on the horizon. Will it climb back to the top, or fizzle out as just another disappointment?
