When it comes to cultural impact, very few muscle cars punch as far above their weight as the Pontiac Firebird. When it arrived in 1969, it joined the burgeoning muscle car/pony car market that was taking the country by storm, and offered a new take on GM’s “Coke bottle” styling with the iconic dual headlights and that Pontiac snout nose. Throughout the next few decades, incredible editions and its inclusion in some pretty prominent films helped it cultivate a larger-than-life persona that would cement its place in the hall of fame of muscle car history.
