Concerns that Ford might eventually bin its production V8 engines altogether in favor of more fuel-efficient four and/or six-cylinders got a reprieve recently when Bill Ford stated that eight-cylinder powerplants were still “very important” to the brand. So much so, in fact, that the company’s executive chair even cautioned against over-regulation in the motoring sector, warning that this could lead to a “disconnect” with customers.
