In this day and age, electric vehicles are a dime a dozen. Every automaker offers them in one shape or another, with impressive range and performance meant to attract buyers of an eco-conscious mind, or those interested in how this technology can transform their commute. However, 15 years ago, it was a different story. Tesla hadn’t yet released its onslaught of electric offerings around the world, and was in fact still getting used to its new digs over in Fremont. This facility was pawned off by Tesla after NUMMI kicked the bucket, and a byproduct of that deal was the creation of the second-generation ToyotaRAV4 EV.
