When looking for a small sports car that will thrill you in the bends, you’d be amiss to not at least consider something produced by Lotus. The legendary Elise transformed the company’s financial situation when it was released in 1996, allowing it to continue offering more modern versions of its Esprit supercar and other special models well into the 2000s. As the financial situation around the world took a turn for the worse around the world towards the end of the noughties though, Lotus once again found itself in a tough spot.
