Cars such as this are pretty heavy and thus struggle to move at any kind of pace unless they have a decent chunk of grunt. Conversely, having a less powerful engine likely wouldn’t save you much on fuel bills, as the heavy machine would make accelerating more difficult, which uses more gasoline. It could also affect reliability, as the engine has to work harder to do the same job as a more powerful unit.
