
While it’s not as common today, the inline-six engine was once one of the most popular engines on the market. It was famed for its smoothness, versatility, and ease of repair, the latter of which is due to its inline nature, meaning most engine bays an inline-six would be found in had ample room on either side of the engine to allow easy access during repairs, and as any DIY mechanic knows, the more room in an engine bay, the better.
