No one should be surprised that Scout Motors is packaging both the Terra pickup and Traveler SUV as extended-range electric vehicles, and that 87% of the 160,000 potential customers who put down $100 deposits want the extended-range version with an onboard gasoline-powered generator. When salable units are available by 2028, the startup automaker says you can buy a battery-electric Scout with up to 350 miles of range, or get the EREV with combustion backup and a 500-mile range.
