The U.S. may have barred Chinese vehicles and new electric cars from companies like BYD from entering its automotive marketplace for now with the help of a 100% tariff, but that hasn’t stopped Chinese automakers from dominating the other North American markets, especially in Mexico. While many Chinese companies have established significant manufacturing footprints in Mexico and South America, they also continue to ship exported cars from China over to the continent. Now, one of those ships has reportedly caught fire in the middle of the ocean, and has had to be dramatically abandoned.
