Given the current trend for electric and hybrid powertrains essentially killing off less efficient propulsion solutions, like naturally aspirated engines and those with more than six cylinders, it’s not surprising to see some vehicle layouts lost to history. One that we lost some time ago was the trusty V8 that transmitted its power through its host’s front wheels, with this powertrain concept having been retired at the turn of the 2010s. GM once built many cars in this way, with transversely mounted V8s used in many cars such as the Cadillac Seville, Buick Lucerne, and Oldsmobile Aurora.
