Police work is never simple. Even a routine call can turn unpredictable in seconds, and sometimes, what starts as a traffic stop becomes something far more dangerous.
That’s exactly what happened in Plymouth Township, Pennsylvania, when two officers found themselves in a precarious situation after confronting the driver of a Mercedes G-Class, who allegedly ran them over multiple times with his father’s SUV.

The incident took place on Friday, October 24, around noon, after police officers reportedly responded to calls of an erratic driver in a white Mercedes G-Class.
What Happened on That Friday?
When they pulled up behind the large SUV, the driver, later identified as Dalton Lee Janiczek, 21, allegedly backed into the police cruiser. One officer jumped out and began shouting commands with his firearm out.
According to CBS News, Tom Nolan, Deputy Chief of Detectives for the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, claims that Janiczek drove directly at the officer.
In turn, the police officer fired at Janiczek but was ultimately hit by the G-Class. One of the bullets hit the other officer in the patrol car. Then, the 21-year-old allegedly came back for more.
“He’s (the officer hit by the Mercedes) trying to self-put on a tourniquet, the vehicle drives directly at him, striking him a second time,” Nolan said. “The vehicle then does back up two additional times and strikes the officer intentionally two more times.” In total, the officer was hit by the car four times.

Evidently, authorities were already familiar with Janiczek. Before this incident, he had reportedly refused to stop for police on several occasions, engaged in reckless driving, and at one point even threatened to blow up a police station. He was finally taken into custody after ramming another patrol car head-on.
Fortunately, all officers injured during the encounter are expected to recover.
According to the New York Post, Janiczek is the son of a well-known attorney. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that he is being held without bail and faces multiple charges, including fleeing a police officer, aggravated assault, and the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
Given the video evidence and past history of interactions between him and police, this may be one case his father won’t be able to argue his way out of.
