Since the original Acura NSX, the idea of the daily driver supercar has become an idea that the Audi R8 damn near perfected. There are two reasons for this. There’s an undeniable delight in being able to drive a legitimate supercar every day without the pains of being a race car for the road – things like super-stiff suspension, lots of noise as sound deadening materials are heavy, heat transfer from the engine and transmission as insulating materials can be heavy, and the lower-level inconsistent pain of getting in and out without looking like you’re struggling with gravity and fighting the heavily bolstered seats. Then, there’s all the attention it gathers.
