The current Infiniti QX80 is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that is related to the V6 found in the Nissan Z sports car. Though the family lineage is somewhat distant, the QX80’s VR35DDTT is also loosely related to another famous Nissan engine, the VR38DETT that powered the R35 Nissan GT-R. Infiniti’s flagship luxury SUV and Nissan’s halo sports car may not have much in common, but that didn’t stop Infiniti from turning up to the 2025 SEMA show with a 1,000-horsepower QX80, powered by a GT-R Nismo engine.
