Last year, I bought my first electric car: a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL AWD. It has some visibility issues in winter driving, and there’s no convenient place to rest my phone, which must be plugged in to use Apple CarPlay. But otherwise, the Ioniq 5 has been excellent, and meets all of my daily needs. The only thing I’ve been reticent to do with it is take an extended road trip. Because the DC fast charging experience (mostly) sucks.
