Earlier this year, it was widely reported that discussions between Honda and Nissan regarding a possible “merger” to save the latter automaker from its current financial and development struggles had fallen through, with Nissan left to swap out its top executive and dramatically reshuffle its future product plans to try to save costs. Like any good situationship, however, it’s now reported that talks between the two parties never stopped, and there’s still potential for the two, or more, to collaborate in some way to diminish the impact of fresh headaches like US tariffs on imported parts and vehicles.
