Among the underrated, high-performance icons of the 1990s, one of many that have remained largely under-the-radar (but gained appreciation in recent years) is the short-lived GMC Typhoon – widely credited within the automotive world as the first ever production high-performance SUV, paving the way for more contemporary equivalents like the BMW X5 M and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.
