- GM Specialty Vehicles is launching in the United Kingdom.
- It will offer full-size trucks and SUVs starting at £66,000.
- Most models have four-wheel drive and a 420 hp V8 engine.
General Motors has largely retreated from Europe as they’ve ditched Opel, Vauxhall, and Saab. Chevrolet maintains a token presence with the Corvette, but that’s about it.
However, things are changing as the automaker is bringing its full-size trucks and SUVs to the United Kingdom through GM Specialty Vehicles. This will give Brits a taste of the Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, and Escalade-V as well as the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, and Silverado. They’ll also get to sample the GMC Sierra and Yukon Denali.

Starting with the bowtie brand, the Chevrolet Silverado will be priced from £66,000 (equal to around $89,000 at current rates) and offered in LT Trail Boss, ZR2, and High Country configurations.
The Tahoe begins at £86,000 ($116,000) and will be offered in RST and High Country guise. The Suburban, on the other hand, is available exclusively as a High Country and it starts at £100,000 ($135,000).
The off-road focused Sierra AT4 costs £73,000 ($98,000), while the luxurious Denali begins at £75,000 ($101,000). As for the Yukon Denali, it’ll set you back £110,000 ($148,000). That’s steep, but it comes with all the usual features including 22-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and power-retractable side steps with LED perimeter lighting.Â
Other highlights include heated and ventilated leather front seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 13.4-inch infotainment system.
If that isn’t exclusive enough, the Escalade offers Premium Luxury and Sport Platinum variants for £149,950 ($202,000). However, the real star is the £199,950 ($270,000) V-Series. Customers can also get the super-sized Escalade ESV for £180,000 ($243,000), but it’s limited to Sport Platinum guise.
Most of the models are equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine developing 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque. However, the Escalade-V adds a supercharger into the mix and this increases the output to 682 hp (509 kW / 691 PS) and 653 lb-ft (884 Nm).
Clive Sutton is the initial UK dealer for GM Specialty Vehicles and the models are available to order now, with deliveries scheduled to begin this spring. They’re fully homologated for the United Kingdom and come with a comprehensive three‑year, unlimited‑mileage warranty.
