Ford appears to be determined to remain a punchline over recalls in 2025, adding two recalls on June 16 for a sum of half a million vehicles over two separate rear-seat-related issues. The first is caused by the bezel around a switch being improperly installed. It’s the plastic surrounding the easy-entry seat fold switch on the second-row outboard seats of 1304,662 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models. While the seats intermittently binding or becoming stuck in the down position doesn’t sound dangerous, Ford also says in the recall documentation that “This binding or sticking may result in the seat unlatching, folding, and/or sliding unexpectedly, potentially while driving,” and that “a seat that unexpectedly folds or slides while driving could increase the risk of injury, particularly in a crash.”
