- Mercedes is about to unveil a new performance model, rumored to be called AMG GT XX.
- The exterior design has been shown in official teasers and leaked photos ahead of its debut.
- Highlights include circular taillights, pixel LED panels, and a large illuminated grille up front.
A new Mercedes-AMG is coming, and while it remains shrouded in mystery, photos of it have been leaked online, following the official teasers. Painted in a bright shade of orange, it appears to be the long-awaited electric sedan, set to rival the Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT.
The automaker first teased this new model earlier in the month, releasing an image of the hood and the roof, revealing similarities between it and the Vision One-Eleven concept from back in 2023, including the bright orange paint scheme.

In April, a different teaser was released, showing the silhouette of a car painted orange, indicating it will be a four-door, lending credence to the earlier rumors about a performance-focused rival to the Porsche Taycan. One of these new teasers appears to show a front quarter panel of the car, where we can see a large AMG badge sitting atop a black piece of trim. The shadow of a wing mirror is also visible.
Then there’s the second teaser, which is much more revealing. It previews the rear of the car and confirms the absence of a rear window, just like a Polestar 4. We can also see the circular LED taillights, seemingly inspired by the lights of the radical Mercedes Vision AMG Concept from a few years ago. Positioned in the center of the rear fascia is an array of pixel LEDs similar to a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which might be configurable to display custom messages.
AMG hasn’t said when it will unveil this car, only stating that “something is stirring in the Mercedes-AMG garage.” It adds that “a new dimension is about to unfold.”
If this is a new hypercar aimed at the Porsche Mission X, it will be underpinned by the AMG.EV architecture, which includes an 800-volt system. Thanks to the trick axial flux electric motors, it could deliver over 1,000 hp. If these teasers preview AMG’s new electric sedan, it’ll also do battle with a Porsche, namely the Taycan, and be sold alongside the current ICE-powered AMG GT 4-Door.
