Tech can make life easier, but it sure can give you a headache. JD Power recently completed its US Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). As it stands now, modern cars suffer 204 problems per 100 vehicles (204 PP100) on average. This is two points higher than last year’s numbers, and it will likely continue to climb. Sitting at the top of the ‘why is this happening’ list is modern vehicles’ ever-growing use of electronics and tech. For context, JD Power found that infotainment systems account for the largest majority of issues faced by modern autos.
