These are strange times we live in, because a pickup truck’s four-cylinder can now out-torque a V6. The 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Pro comes with a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder “TurboMax” producing 430 lb-ft of torque as standard. As for Ford’s base F-150 XL, it comes with a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 producing just 400 lb-ft of torque. This can pay dividends in the towing department.
