When the C2 Corvette first stormed onto the scene in 1963, it immediately stole the spotlight as one of America’s most radical sports cars. Virtually everything about it was groundbreaking, especially when it came to style and its suspension. It carried a new independent rear suspension and could produce up to 360 horsepower from an optional 327 CID small-block V8. However, that engine was plopped over the C2’s front axle. Fame was to follow. But first, the engine would need to move.
