Expectations
Owning and buying a car is supposed to be a wonderful and stress-free experience. We expect that after we’ve done the careful research and checking, the model that we finally decide on works without fault. The problem is that modern cars are built to cost, but at the same time are loaded with all these new features.
While it’s perfectly fine to expect your car to work well, we’re slowly getting used to the fact that modern cars experience some factory issues one way or another. GM has just issued its own service bulletin for the Buick Envista and Encore GX.

Faulty Climate Control
GM Authority reports that parent company General Motors (GM) has just issued what they call a service bulletin for the Buick Envista and Encore GX. The issue itself is centered around the climate control systems, which experience ‘reduced airflow’ or lose air completely after a few minutes of normal driving. It must be noted that the service bulletin is a preliminary issue while the automaker continues to investigate the issue at hand.
The bulletin states that the symptoms occur around 30 minutes after driving with the air conditioning turned on. Some owners report that in this timeframe, the airflow through the dashboard-mounted vents reduces significantly or is non-existent. Putting the airflow on the highest setting doesn’t address the issue either.
GM at the moment suspects that the problem is being caused by the evaporator freezing over. It can happen during extended driving with the air conditioning system turned on; the ice could accumulate to the point where it restricts the airflow passing through the evaporator into the cabin.

Affecting Most
GM’s service bulletin makes it clear that the issue affects Buick Envista and Encore GX models built from 2024-2026 sold in North America. Furthermore, the issue can affect all engine and transmission combinations of the specific models. Each car that will undergo inspection must have the required refrigerant level.
Lastly, GM does say that the issue itself is not considered a safety issue, but at the moment the engineering team is still determining the specific fault and the remedy.
