Not Just A Fad
In the world of toys and collectibles, the space for relevance is very short. The market is driven mostly by hype. If a product becomes “viral,” then the higher the chance that the value and demand increase. In the case of Bearbrick (stylized as BE@RBRICK), the rather simple figurine has lasting appeal, becoming a staple for collectors.
The appeal endures because Bearbrick’s newfound success is driven by collaborations with brands, giving each new Bearbrick a fresh identity that appeals to a specific market. Its newest collaboration is aimed at the petrolhead and immortalizes a legend.

Bearbrick Nissan GT-R Edition
Nissan Japan announced that they’ve partnered with Bearbrick to release a very special NISSAN GT-R BE@RBRICK 100% & 400%. The numbers at the end of the name represent the sizes the figurine will come in. The inspiration behind this collaboration is to commemorate the end of production of the Nissan GT-R model in August 2025.
Its main concept statement was “GT-R Forever,” putting together the elements that make the GT-R iconic. It is finished in the recognizable Midnight Purple on the base, with carbon fiber accents along the bear’s arms. There’s a GT-R logo placed on the chest, and at the rear of the figurine are the four round taillights that have become synonymous with the GT-R. According to Nissan, the collectible’s overall design represents the evolution of the GT-R across all its generations.

High Demand
The NISSAN GT-R BE@RBRICK 100% & 400% is set to go on sale starting July 2, 2026. If you’re interested in getting your hands on one, there are three ways: the Nissan Online Shop, the boutique at Nissan’s Global headquarters in Yokohama, and the Nissan Crossing store located in Ginza, Tokyo. Prices are set to be at $136 for the set, which includes both sizes of the figure.
Since Nissan expects demand to be high, only two sets will be available for purchase per person on a first-come, first-served basis, giving more people a chance to purchase them. This comes after two previously successful collaborations between the two companies; the 2025 Sakura at Japanese Dawn sold out quickly. We can expect the GT-R edition to sell even more quickly because of its connection to a legendary sports car.
