Ford’s most important car has just become a buildable collectible. The Ford Model T is now available as a Lego Icons set, recreating the look of a 1913 model in brick form for Lego collectors, history buffs, and automotive enthusiasts alike. While Lego car kits have been around for years, we don’t get many that lean this heavily into heritage. Most builds come in the form of Lego Technic sets, and focus on hypercars like the McLaren P1, Bugatti Chiron, and Lamborghini Sián, but the Icons line is about celebrating design and history. As of March 1, the Model T officially joins that lineup. And just like the original Model T, you can choose any color, as long as it’s black.

When Henry Ford introduced the Model T in the early 1900s, it transformed transportation. Assembly line production made cars significantly more affordable, allowing millions of people to own a vehicle for the first time. The Model T also earned a reputation for versatility. Owners modified them for farming, industrial work, and countless custom uses. More than a century later, the car still represents the moment the automobile truly went mainstream, and people remain on the lookout for its reincarnation
How Ford Helped Lego Get It Right

To make the model accurate, designers from Lego Icons worked closely with historical materials from Ford Motor Company during development. Early renderings were compared with archive references to ensure the proportions and design details matched a real 1913 car. Details like fender angles, branding placement, and lighting were refined over multiple design iterations. Ford even shared vintage brochures, photos, and period documentation to help guide the process, ensuring the final build reflects the original vehicle as closely as possible.

Now that the set has launched, we know exactly what Lego ended up building. The Lego Icons Ford Model T set includes 1,060 pieces and is priced at $129.99 on lego.com. It features several functional elements, including a fold-back fabric-style roof, a split windshield that folds down, and a single opening passenger door. When opening the rear trunk, you can lift the seat to reveal the fuel tank, and open the hood panels from both sides to view the engine. There’s even a hand crank that spins the cooling fan. The finished model measures about 29 cm (11.42 inches) long, is painted black, has gold accents, and tall spoked wheels with narrow white tires. Like other display-focused builds, such as the Porsche 911 and Back to the Future DeLorean, it’s designed to look at home on a shelf or desk. At the moment, the Lego Icons Model T is on backorder, and orders will only be shipped on March 19, 2026.
