The first SUV that BMW ever created was the BMW X5, which debuted at the turn of the millennium. Just under a decade after BMW broke the mold with the BMW X5, the Bavarian automaker began production of the first-generation BMW X6, which, alongside pioneering the Dynamic Performance Control system, was powered by a unique engine.
