If you grew up having to peel “Intel Inside” stickers from new computers and seeing the logo on operating systems, it may be surprising to learn that Intel is in deep financial trouble. So deeply, in fact, that the chip developer and manufacturer is bowing out of the now chip-heavy automotive industry completely. Intel Corp plans on fulfilling existing contracts through its Mobileye business, but is laying off “most” of its automotive group employees and winding Mobileye down.
