The Nissan Murano has earned its place in the industry as Nissan’s weirdest vehicle. While it was designed in the US, it went into production in 2002 with styling that set it apart by somehow managing to have a rounded but edgy design. It was a style leader then, but over the years, it’s somehow become seemingly irrelevant. Its styling has always remained oddball in some way, but following a redesign in 2024, it moved into a decidedly more upmarket niche. Sales might not have reflected that, but that hasn’t stopped Nissan USA from claiming a major milestone: 700,000 Muranos have now been built in the US.
