When you look at the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, it looks like it’s going to be a handful. It’s much more of a race car than a road car, what with its swan-neck supports for the rear wing, and oodles of vents and channels; it’s a wonder air doesn’t get lost inside. It certainly had me a tad nervous as I was to take it out around the famed Monza circuit, even after having driven several laps in some cars that actually made more power. Those cars included the new BMW M5, and the GT3’s more mellow sibling, the Carrera 4 GTS. My strategy for the day was to get familiar with Monza with these softer machines before tackling it with the GT3 RS.
