BMW has produced several ultimate driving machines none are arguably more iconic than the M1. Built from 1978 to 1981, the M1 was a mid-engine sports car developed in collaboration with Lamborghini. It’s one of only two mid-engine cars BMW has ever built. It was the first BMW production vehicle to get the M badge. And it was the only M Division-exclusive vehicle in the company’s history until the XM crossover showed up.
