The Washington Post filed a lawsuit with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The newspaper filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for information related to crashes involving Tesla’s Autopilot and Full-Self Driving systems, now officially called “Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (Supervised)” to alleviate owner confusion. The NHTSA declined to respond to the FOIA request, prompting the Post to file its lawsuit. Tesla has just filed a motion, first spotted by Reuters, to have that FOIA request dismissed, citing “competitive harm.”
