It’s been a crazy 10 years of electric-vehicle hype and the promise of start-up automakers entering the market to threaten legacy brands here in the US. That hasn’t happened, and, beyond Tesla’s insurgency, legacy automakers are now dominant in the EV market. And that’s despite a lot of start-ups aiming for the truck market while legacy automakers worked on cars and crossovers first, knowing trucks needed a more mature electric powertrain.
