As unattainable as most Ferraris are for most people, including ourselves, Ferrari’s race cars are even more so. Either you have to be good enough to race for Ferrari, in which case you only have the car for racing, or you have to be able to buy a retired car at auction. That latter option is, naturally, exceedingly expensive, and yet still a more plausible route to Ferrari race car ownership than landing a slot with the racing team. Now, though, Ferrari is letting people get pieces of its race cars. They’re not just unused leftovers, either. They’re pieces of actually raced vehicles. They’re still expensive, but they’re the closest most people will ever get to having the whole thing. Just don’t plan on building a car a piece at a time like in the Johnny Cash song.
